Environmental Grants and Rebates

Government Green Loans Program

The government green loans program is a lending program designed to assist Australians in making the necessary changes to their home to comply with more environmentally friendly standards. It can be very expensive to modify your home into a more energy efficient set-up, and many home-owners cannot afford the necessary changes without government assistance. This program, like every loan program, is subject to availability, so check if you can still qualify for it by calling 1800 198 794 or by visiting the website here.

Natural Resource Grants

Energy and Water Rebates

The State Government offers various rebates, please check the following websites to see what is available:

Renewable Power Incentive

You may be entitled to Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs)  if your Small-Scale Generation Unit (SGU), such as small-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, wind or hydro unit, is eligible. These certificates can then be sold and transferred to an STC agent (usually electricity retailers) or sold in the STC market or through the STC Clearing House. An STC agent will offer you a financial benefit such as an up-front discount or delayed cash payment when you assign your STCs to them. A majority of owners take this option.

For more details visit the Australian Government's Office of Renewable Energy Regulator solar panels web page.

Residential Energy Efficiency Scheme

The Residential Energy Efficiency Scheme (REES) is a South Australian Government initiative that requires large energy providers to help households save energy.
